Euro RX heads to Hungary with bumper 68 car strong entry list

Momentum continues to build in the 2026 FIA European Rallycross Championship as a bumper entry list heads to Nyirád for the second round of the season, with no fewer than 68 drivers set to compete across Euro RX1, Euro RX3, Euro RX4 and Euro RX5.
Following a spectacular curtain-raiser in Latvia, anticipation is high ahead of the championship’s return to (insert the actual name) better known as the iconic Red Cauldron – a venue renowned for its fast, flowing layout, dramatic elevation changes and passionate fans. Across the two days of racing total of 20 nationalities will be represented across the four categories of the Euro RX of Hungary.
EURO RX1
Once again, the headline category boasts a hugely competitive line-up packed with proven race-winners, title contenders and local favourites.
Eight-time World Champion Johan Kristoffersson returns eager to continue his winning form, but the Swede faces an exceptionally deep field around one of rallycross’ most demanding circuits. Among those aiming to challenge at the front are three-time European Champion Andreas Bakkerud, 2025 championship runner-up Damian Litwinowicz and Finnish talent Joni Turpeinen.
The fiercely competitive field is further strengthened by SET Promotion Finnish duo Juha Rytkönen and Joni Turpeinen, along with former Euro RX1 Champion Patrick O’Donovan and rising challenger Anton Seppä – highlighting the incredible pool of talent for what promises to be another spectacular weekend of wheel-to-wheel action in Nyirád.
Home support will firmly rally behind a strong Hungarian contingent led by Tamás Kárai, Zoltán Koncseg, Attila & Márk Mózer, László Kiss and Andor Trepák, all of whom will be determined to shine in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.
Elsewhere, the entry features a host of established international stars including Ole Christian Veiby, Fabien Pailler, Ulrik Linnemann and Nils Volland, alongside exciting young talents such as Johannes Rafoss and Casper Jansson.
With 31 cars on the grid and drivers eager to gain crucial championship points in Round 2 of the season, the scene is set for another fiercely-contested weekend of wheel-to-wheel action in the championship’s top flight category.

EURO RX3
The Euro RX3 category continues to boast some of the brightest rising stars in international rallycross, with a 15-car grid featuring a fascinating mix of returning front-runners and new challengers.
Last round’s title protagonists Rytis Gurklys and Nicolas Geleyns are back in Audi A1 machinery, while experienced campaigners Libor Teješ and Jérémy Lambec are joined by French youngster Julien Meunier, who currently leads the RX3 Championship.
Škoda Fabias will once again be well represented through the likes of Sámuel Kovács, Audrius Kragas and Austrian duo Josef Strebinger and Dominik Senegacnik, while Dylan Dufas and Markus Røsrud are back on the grid after their spectacular accident at the last corner of the Euro RX3 final in Latvia.
There will also be strong local interest courtesy of Levente Kacor, who will compete in Suzuki Swift, as Tiago Ferreira and André Sousa fly the Portuguese flag in a category renowned for producing unpredictable and spectacular racing.

EURO RX4 AND EURO RX5
The FIA’s newest grassroots categories continue to attract encouraging interest, with competitive and diverse fields assembled for both Euro RX4 and Euro RX5.
Euro RX4 features seven entries spanning six nationalities, with Anna Rusek, Andrea Benezet, Thomas Quincé and Albert Ako Kokk all looking to impress in Rally4-spec machinery after an action-packed debut in Latvia.
Meanwhile, Euro RX5 once again delivers a varied and youthful full grid, with 15 drivers from across Europe. French brothers Paolo and Flavio Martins return alongside Hungarian hopefuls Ottó Horváth and Ádám KelÅ‘ Gere, while Estonia’s Martin Juga will have his eyes set on redemption after narrowly missing out on the win in Latvia.
Britain’s Benjamin Bartlett and Spain’s Diego Martínez González add further international flavour to the category.
