Former European Champion Kevin Hansen to make headline Euro RX return at iconic Lohéac

One of rallycross' biggest names is set to join the FIA European Rallycross Championship field later this month, with Kevin Hansen confirmed to contest Round 5 of the 2026 season at the iconic Circuit de Lohéac in France on 28–30 August.

The Swedish ace will compete with PGRX, with his campaign supported by Indonesian sports and entertainment company SARGA.CO as part of its growing international motorsport programme.

A former FIA European Rallycross Champion and one of the sport's most accomplished drivers, Hansen arrives in Euro RX1 boasting an outstanding résumé that includes back-to-back runner-up finishes in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2023 and 2024.

His appearance is made all the more significant by the machinery he will race. For the first time in more than a decade, Hansen will compete in a car other than a Peugeot, bringing to an end one of the longest and most recognisable manufacturer associations in modern rallycross. The Hansen family has been intrinsically linked with Peugeot – and previously Citroën – for more than three decades, making the switch one of the most talked-about stories of the season.

Hansen's return also adds further star quality to one of the most anticipated events on the 2026 calendar. Widely regarded as one of rallycross' spiritual homes, Lohéac celebrates the 50th anniversary of its famous circuit this year, with thousands of passionate fans expected to create one of the championship's best atmospheres.

The Swedish ace knows exactly what it takes to perform at the legendary French venue, having stood on the podium there on multiple occasions during his World RX career, including a memorable one-two finish alongside brother Timmy in 2021.

With championship contenders already locked in a fiercely competitive battle, Hansen's arrival promises to add another proven race winner to the mix as the season enters its decisive second half. His experience, outright pace and familiarity with the demands of Lohéac make him an immediate contender for victory when the lights go out later this month.

Fans can watch Hansen make his highly anticipated Euro RX return in Lohéac on 28–30 August, as well as live and free on the Official FIA European Rallycross Championship Youtube Channel – for what promises to be a fitting celebration of one of the sport's most iconic venues.
